Contemporary western society is often portrayed as ‘secular′, and displaying a high degree of religious illiteracy. Thus, the doctrine of the Trinity can seem to be an anachronistic, incomprehensible notion, three parsons as one does not make sense to modern scientific thinking. The result for a Christian response can be a tendency to focus on Jesus, or the spirit, and engage creatively with current agendas. By contrast, the cal to live in the Trinity, in the life of God as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, is an invitation to step into eternity.
