Revelation to John

Overview

The Book Revelation has been surrounded by misunderstanding and sepeculation about its vision. It has been read as a book which predicts how and when human history will come to an apocalyptic end offering only an escape for single souls into heaven. Johan speaks indeed of God's judgment in and at the end of history, but that is not the finale word which envisages a new heaven and new earth, which comes in the course of the confrontation with the power of oppressions, destruction and death. Bas Wielenga (1936) worked on the staff of Centre for Social Analysis, Tamilnadu Kraemmer House, an ecumenical centere in Berlin (1961-71).He came to India as research fellow at Christian Institute for Study of Religions and Society, Bangalore (1972-74).
