Overview

To be in Apostolic company it is necessary to come to John with empty hands and a full heart; to Thomas with an effort to emulate his powerful honesty, confessing that although one once thought differently, yet infinite guidance has changed matters; to Barnabas when we are ready and the sooner the better, rejecting materialistic notions; to Paul with a joining of hands as we cast away all where this will gain us to Christ, and rejecting mere adherence to law; to Simon Peter with the immense gratitude of one who has received special invitation even after denials of the truth.
